Dear Bill

My name is Don Albright. I was in the sales department for about 5 years. I lived and worked out of Cincinnati, Ohio. I covered Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. In the fall of 1966 Jim Hamilton transferred me to California where I still reside.

I was hired by Ed Smith, who was sales manager at the time. I joined a sales staff that included John Whittaker, Ed Jocobi, Bill Teeple and George Du Bois.

I joined Sadtler after working for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. When I first saw the old building on Vine St my first thought was "what have I done". What I had done was join a company that did great things and had a good time doing it. Over the years I have thought of Sadtler but forgot many of the names. Your phone list brought them back to mind.

I remember setting up Harry Johnston's traveling IR school in Anaheim. Don Slavin and his wife, Harry and Peg Had a great time. The class was a great success.

I also remember Freddy Mercaldo moving from the lab into sales. Freddy and I spent some time together during his training. We also spent some time at a
symposium in San Francisco.

I also remember that one of the staff like to refer to chemical compounds as "hex-a-methyl chicken wire". Funny how we remember things.

Thanks for the web site it was great to see this again.

Don
